Those slippers are inspiring. My sister made a pair similar to those ones and i think this is going to be my plan for the weekend-

Friday

sleep furiously

Today I watched this beautiful film Sleep Furiously, a documentary on a small village in Wales. Not a standard documentary, a beautiful tribute to the place where the film director Gideon Koppel grew up. I cried so much during this film (maybe i'm just a bit emotional today) but the music score is amazing : some old tracks by Aphex Twin i've always loved. Old people, the itinerant library, the sheep, the shepherd dogs, the cake contest.
The images are so beautiful, everyone shot is blowing my mind.

Have a good weekend

Tuesday

behind the knitting scenes

i've decided to start a series called "knitting scenes", i.e. movies where characters are seen knitting ! everytime i watch a movie i notice somebody knitting it makes me smile so i thought i would share that with you here.
i guess it will involve what is referred to as "old movies", it will be the occasion to share films i love too.

And so let's start, shall we ? With a cult movie, Jules et Jim, directed by François Truffaut and starring the wonderful Jeanne Moreau -

The movie takes place in the 1910s and 1920s. In this scene Catherine (Jeanne Moreau) is knitting with her daughter Sabine. She's now living with her husband Jules in the German countryside when Jim comes and visits them.

two lovers

the love between those two will always amaze me - i hope you had a nice Easter weekend.

Saturday

the black cat (curiouser, curiouser)

Meet Carrot, who was initially my cat, i kept her for a year and a half, i was crazy about her but things got difficult in my Parisian appartment, she was very unhappy there, and quite aggressive frankly. So, reluctantly, i took her to my parents, my mum was extraordinary and got very close to her, now Carrot is happy, less scared than she used to be, she cuddles my Mummy a lot and even though she doesn't give a damn about me when i come and visit, she's till my little kitty.

Thursday

from my window

a little poem on boxes

vintage boxes, i like them square, i like them round,
even rectangle,  i like them all
this is just a selection of the ones i own

some are filled with buttons
others are filled with nails
and some are just lying around
empty and just there with no aim

still i can't help getting some more
oh vintage boxes
when will i stop thrifting you all ?

a day in the park

an afternoon in a wondeful park with a good friend, multicolored bushes, sunny sky and strawberries !
(thank you Marion for the fruit, the lemonade and the camera tip)

Monday

re-arrange

some of the things i spent hours tidying and rearranging this weekend - books, books, books ...
(and way too many clothes too that)
also organizing my mask tapes, my dozens of yarns, etc etc etc
it took some time !
and how long will it stay organized ?

Sunday

keep it up

and as far cleaning and organizing go, the blog "things organized neatly" is obviously inspiring !

spring clean

again and again trying to organize and get rid of things.... so many things in my appartment. probably too many (the curse of the flea markets addicts and let's face it dress addicts too) and once again comes the closet obsession !

Tuesday

bonjour tristesse

on a building in Berlin

Monday

wool and paper

I was in Berlin for a few days, and it was very very nice, sweet and peaceful.
Motto is a very nice bookshop mostly dealing with architecture and design. I bought a book about paper there.
R.S.V.P. Berlin is a lovely paper shop which i discovered last year and i longed for going back there this time. I found some notebooks and i bought presents for friends.
Wolle is a yarn shop, i prefer my regular shop Caf'e tricot in Paris but their shop sign is nice !

Maru Maru

I've been away from this blog for a few days - both busy because of work and time spent away from Paris.
I've been knitting a lot and thrifting too !  It feels good.

Here's Maru, a very famous cat. Those pictures make me laugh. My two cats make me laugh too.
In a few days i'll be in Berlin, i can't wait.
